Butterfly on Desktop is an entertaining application that was designed exclusively for fun purposes. It displays multiple butterflies on your screen, setting a cheerful mood for anyone that gazes at your desktop.
With the richness of the nowadays software market, there are plenty of choices in what desktop enhancements are concerned. Screensavers, wallpapers and themes make the most popular methods to dress up the desktop, but animated objects are also in trend.
Butterfly on Desktop belongs to the last category, standing out through the quality of the animated graphics, more than all the other aspects. The bright colors of the butterflies are a strong reminder of the spring, bringing a little bit of joy into your daily workflow.
The installation process takes very little time, in just a few seconds you’ll be able to get acquainted with the flying insects. By default, the application only adds two butterflies, but you can change this from the Settings section, where you can define the number of insects to be released on application start.
There’s no interface to the program, but you can manage a few essentials using the system tray icon. From here, you will be able to add one or five more butterflies to the desktop at once, as well as to cease the insect activity, which will make the butterflies magically disappear.
Overall, we liked the quality of the graphics, the butterflies seemed very vivid; you can add an unlimited number of butterflies, you can even have them cover the desktop entirely. However, an option to add a custom number of insects at a time to the desktop would have been nice.
