Freespot Explorer

Freespot Explorer is a lightweight application that offers you a simple and efficient means of browsing the Internet.
Besides leaving a nearly inexistent footprint on your hard drive and system resources, it also displays a minimalistic interface. This makes it easy to use and highly intuitive.
In terms of what it can offer, it doesn’t stand out much. Besides the standard ‘Home’, ‘Reload’, ‘Stop’, ‘Back’ and ‘Forward’ buttons, there’s not much to speak of. The application starts in window mode and remains so until you switch to full screen. You can’t resize the browser window to fit your needs but you can however scroll the loaded page vertically and horizontally.
You can’t open a new tab but you can run another instance of it and start a new browsing session. This seems a bit counterproductive but when you want to move a window, it becomes transparent enough so you can see what’s beneath it. This is a nice feature to have and makes your screen seem less cluttered but with more than two instances open at the same time, the effect doesn’t do all that much.
Freespot Explorer might not offer any fun or new features but it does provide a steady and stable browsing experience. As far as loading speeds go, the application is slightly behind more popular browsers but considering its size, that is actually an advantage to it.
A thing that Freespot Explorer could of benefited from is the presence of a history for previously visited webpages. It does seem a bit unusual to re-enter each website every time you visit it, or paste in into a text file so you won’t forget it.
All in all, for an application that is so small in stature, Freespot Explorer does the job done, not in a great way, but just enough.
