Music can be heard nearly anywhere. Whether enjoying your favorite tunes while at home, on the road or at parties, a media player is required in order make sound reach your ears. Various applications are available, each with custom features to enhance your audio experience, such as Music Box that tries to do the same.

Play favorite songs and manage playlists

The application wraps its features in a modern interface, with glowing effects while hovering the mouse cursor over buttons. All necessary playback options are available, with a volume slider letting you increase or decrease number of emitted decibels.
You are able to load music only through the file menu. Doing so enables you to manually pick only desired songs or import the content of a whole directory. These can be stored in playlists you can create for various moods, genres or even events.

Limited features put at your disposal

There is little else to be done other than listening to your favorite songs and managing playlists. The application lets you create an image library containing album covers. Pictures are automatically added, but you are able to use an integrated search engine to look up items online.
Sound must be as clear as possible before the “Play” button is pressed, because there is no integrated equalizer so that you can further enhance sound. Moreover, there is no way to have the application minimized and easily press buttons on your desktop to change songs, due to lack of hotkey support.

In conclusion

To sum it up, Music Box wants to offer you minimum options so that you can enjoy your favorite songs with little system resources used. Unfortunately, consequences of doing so greatly limit and restrict it from being a professional application. Advanced features are missing and those available leave a little something to be desired.
