Password Generator Description
Password Generator is an extremely lightweight application that provides a simple approach to generating strong passwords that you can use with your online accounts.
Brought in a market that’s already overpopulated with similar utilities, Password Generator stands out through simplicity, speed and efficiency, being able to produce passwords based on user-defined criteria.
It’s wrapped inside a GUI that sports a basic, yet user-friendly appearance, which makes it fit for both beginners and more advanced users. Because of its simplicity, usage can be intuited quite quickly, despite lacking IT knowledge.
The application can generate passwords of up to 20 characters, being able to include in the passphrases uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, as well as special characters.
These criteria can be combined as you like; for instance, if you want the password to contain only lowercase characters and letters, this is possible by checking the corresponding boxes.
Optionally, you can enable the program to match the characters of an English and German keyboard. However, if this feature is active, the output password won’t contain any special characters, even if you’ve chosen it as a criteria. Therefore, you need to uncheck the EN-DE option in order to fix that.
Once you’ve decided on the characters to be part of the final password, hit the ‘Generate’ button in order to have the phrase delivered instantly. There’s also a button that copies the result to the clipboard in addition to the generation process.
On an ending note, Password Generator comes across as very simple application, but it does carry out the targeted results. However, a more appealing interface would give it a significant boost in popularity.
