SpeedRunner Description
Besides many other functions, the computer can be used to store large quantities of data. However, when it comes to managing it, the process can get time-consuming unless proper applications are used. SpeedRunner is one of them, and promises to make you handle files on your computer fun and easy.
Visually appealing and easy to use
Running the application brings up a shiny and polished interface. A lot of effort has been put in the designed, with customizable colors attributed to different file types and a clean look about it. The workspace is divided into two file explorers, so that you can easily identify and handle files or folders.
The major features it comes equipped with mostly let you move, copy, delete files or create new folders. However, drag and drop is also supported, for enhanced ease of access.
Assign shortcuts to the toolbar
Probably one of the most useful features is that you can quickly launch virtually any application from the interface. In other words, the application lets you set shortcuts displayed in an upper toolbar. You can easily drag existing shortcuts or programs over the dedicated space so you can later on access them with a single mouse click.
Good but far from being a pro
Unfortunately, the application is mostly limited to functions mentioned above. Several customization options are available in the preferences menu, which is relatively shallow. Most actions done first go in a queue, requiring you to put them in motion before they actually take effect. This makes file handling more time-consuming, rather than fast and reliable.
Furthermore, you must manually navigate to desired files due to the lack of an integrated search engine to look up elements for you. What's more, there is no possibility to manually write down a file or directory path.
A few last words
To sum it up, SpeedRunner is an application designed to save you time when managing files, but tends to get stuck along the way. Its biggest feature is the pretty interface, while available features leave a little something to be desired.
