TablaGuide Description
Tabla Guide is intended for learning Tabla. It can also be used as an electronic Tabla player, however, this version does not contain a pitch shift capability to allow tuning it to the singer s key. There is a vast amount of printed and online information available about the Taals. However, it can be difficult to learn without actually hearing the sound patterns. Tabla Guide fills in that gap by providing the sound patterns. Current version can also play Ragas to accompany your Tabla practice. From a pull-down menu you can select a raga and set the desired tempo and start practicing. In order to get the most benefit from the Tabla Guide, one should play tabla along with the Tabla guide. Choose a taal you wish to learn and then start at a slow tempo. Keep practicing at the slow tempo until you feel comfortable playing the Taal. After that, increase the tempo by 5 or 10 steps and spend time practicing at that tempo.
