Tiny Alarm Description
Setting up alarms is not only useful when trying desperately to get out of bed in the morning. If you’re caught up in heavy work, a simple reminder can help save sensible situations. If you’re working on a PC, then Tiny Alarm can be used to set up alarms for upcoming tasks, schedules, or even to pick up a dish out of the oven.
Lightweight, and easy to use
One of its main advantages is portability, thus providing a lightweight method of setting up alarms regardless of the computer you’re working on. Moreover, registry entries are not modified to make the application work, so there’s no need to worry about the health status of the target PC.
A compact window shows up on launch, with most options in plain sight. Three different alarm types can be configured, each with its own set of trigger consequences. Sadly, the application doesn’t minimize to the tray area when configured, but to the taskbar instead, so be careful not to close it by mistake to cancel alarms.
Set alarms, and pick actions
One quick method of setting up an alarm is to move the initial slider which stretches from 0 to 60 minutes. This is useful for upcoming tasks, especially when leaving something cooking in the kitchen. Just so time doesn’t run out with no warning, it’s best to hit the “actions†button to choose what happens.
In fact, all methods are fitted with their own configuration window, letting you select the type of sound to emit, whether or not to show main window, and to repeat ringing to be sure you get notified. Additionally, the application can shut down the computer for you, this method being especially useful to simply set it when going to bed while watching a movie and not being sure you can sit through.
As mentioned before, two other methods can be used to set the timer. On the one hand, it can run after a specific number of hours, and minutes, with the same action options. Configurable in the same manner, the last method only plays a sound, for a simple, acoustic alert.
On an ending note
Taking everything into consideration, Tiny Alarm is a lightweight tool which comes with three, simple methods of setting up reminders so you don’t miss appointments, or even dinner because it got burnt in the oven. You can carry it around, deserving a try for trivial, daily tasks.
