JPG Sponge is a small software application developed specifically for helping you hide text messages into JPG files. The pictures that carry the concealed messages look the same as normal ones so they won’t raise any suspicions to other users. You can still open them with your default viewer without encountering any errors. It can be deployed on all Windows versions out there.

Portable running mode

The program comes in a portable package. You can take advantage of tool’s portability status by running it without administrative privileges.
What’s more, you can keep it saved on pen drives or other portable devices. Gaining access to the GUI requires only opening the executable file. It does not store entries in your Windows registry and leave other settings behind on the target PC. You can get rid of it using a simple deletion task.

JPG Sponge sports a clean and straightforward layout that has to offer only a few configuration settings. A help manual is not included in the package. However, you can tweak the dedicated parameters on your own because they look easy to work with.
JPG files can be imported in the working environment using the built-in browse button or drag-and-drop support. The photos can be previewed directly in the main window.

Encryption/decryption settings

JPG Sponge gives you the possibility to type the text messages directly in the main window or paste the information from the clipboard. In order to ensure that your information remains private, the tool encrypts data before hiding it within JPEG files.
The sensitive text messages can be decrypted only if you know the correct decryption key. If you send the encrypted files to other users, they need to have JPG Sponge deployed on their computer in order to be able to decrypt the message.

All in all, JPG Sponge has to offer nothing more than a simplistic approach when it comes to encrypting personal messages within images, and is suitable especially for less experienced users.
